About Cheryl
Cheryl's love of fiber and creating began when she was very young. All of the talented women in her family taught her many skills: crochet, embroidery, sewing and cross-stitch. As an adult she happened upon a hand-hooked wool rug and was fascinated by the color play and texture in it. Thus began the journey ten years ago and she has never looked back!
She soon began to teach herself the art. The craft has a primitive and whimsical style to it that Cheryl loves. This governed her pattern choices and she incorporates that style into her work and creations. Cheryl finds herself saving greeting cards and other images that inspire her original designs.
Cheryl creates hooked rugs, table runners, wall hangings as well as using the works to embellish antique baskets, boxes, foot stools....the possibilities are without limit.
Teaching, as women in her family did for her, was the next logical step. Cheryl enjoys sharing the relaxing experience of rug hooking with others. She has taught all levels and ages for approximately six years with great success.
It is a very rewarding for both Cheryl and her students.
